A Legacy of Learning
In January 2023, I received my copy of the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board book. Over the course of a long career, I have written many books, but this is one story that I found truly inspiring.
When the Partition took place, Principal K M Kundnani came to Bombay as a refugee from Sindh, with nothing but the firm conviction that he would recreate his college in this city. Today, that one college has grown into 17 prestigious institutions. During the pandemic, the Board even launched HSNC University; they have tremendous plans for the future.
Seen here are Mr Kishu Mansukhani (centre), Trustee and immediate Past President of the HSNC Board, Mrs Padma Shah (third from left), Editor of the book, without whom this could not have been written; Puran Gur (left), whose assistance was invaluable. Tushar Pangerkar (second from left), who printed the book and last but not least, Shilpa Dinesh (extreme right), who designed the book. This book took a long time to put together, but to finally hold the copy was a very special moment.
